出生成长在加州旧金山湾区的林伟庭， 是一颗新兴崛起的爵士乐明星。 他渐进，热血，温酝的音色源于他将传统爵士乐与当代爵士乐的融合。。在发现John Coltrane的名作 ”A Love Supreme”后，他从此便被爵士乐的奇妙所深深吸引。高中三年级时，林伟庭便跟着加州湾区的名萨克斯风演奏，教育家Dann Zinn学习。在Dann Zinn深具启发的教学指导下，林伟庭发现了他对爵士乐的热情，喜爱。他期望通过努力学习，成为一流的爵士乐手。。林伟庭获得了USC Thorton音乐学院的奖学金，在世界闻名的爵士萨克斯风乐手Bob Sheppard门下学习。在大学里，林伟庭除了是在由Bob Mintzer 指导的USC 奖誉盛名Thorton Jazz Orchestra的一员外，他也是Jason Goldman指导下USC Winning Honor Combo的成员。

二十出头的他便曾与许多爵士名家如Kenny Burrell, Tootie Health, Russell Ferrante, Carl Allen, 等一同演出。林伟庭曾在Monterey爵士音乐节，San Jose爵士音乐节，Blue Whale，Catalina Bar and Grill餐厅，Monterey Next Generation爵士音乐节，Fillmore爵士音乐节表演。林伟庭现在居住在旧金山湾区，在这里他是一位活跃的爵士乐艺术家，教育家，和作曲家。目前他正在准备自己的首张专辑，在不久的将来就会推出。
