A few years after, he decided to take courses at the Conservatory in Namur with Léon Jacot as clarinet-teacher. As he was 19, the young Jean-Pierre participated in the fabulous Belgian "Pro Civitaete" musical competition which he won. After that he continued to study classical music at the Royal Conservatory of Mons and at the same time, he was learning Jazz-Playing with the very known Belgian saxophon-player Steve Houben at the Conservatory of Liège. From the early 80ties on, Jean-Pierre was interested more and more in Jazz and entered the group "saxo1000", which was created before by Steve Houben. At the same moment, he was playing in his first bigband called "le grand orchestre de Jazz de Ciney". In 1999, Jean-Pierre was integrated as Tenor-Saxophon player and clarinettist in the prestigious "Jack Million Band" in Netherlands. Since that, he toured with this orchestra for long periods in the USA, Germany, Netherlands and other countries in Europe.
